Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that Jordan Ponticelli needs to be playing regularly.

Robins told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: “Jordan Ponticelli is going to move out to Macclesfield.

“When we signed Conor (Chaplin( it made things a little bit more difficult for Jordan.

“We now have four strikers to fill those spaces whether we play one, two or even three which depends on formation and form.

“But Jordan needs to play, he needs minutes.

“I’ve spoken to him a lot about it and I want to keep him around but for his development he needs to be playing regularly.

“He’ll go out and get that, hopefully score a few goals and we’ll look at that and see what happens in January.

“It’s a loan to the end of the season, with a recall option in January which is what I asked for.

“We’ve got to work with Jordan on that and make sure we do what’s right for him.

“If he comes back here he’s going to have to go into the team or go out again somewhere else.

“I think working at Macclesfield will be really good for him and he’s got Callum Maycock there as well so he’s got someone he knows there as well.”
