Robins: Massively Proud Of Them

Last updated : 30 December 2017 By CNS Sport

Coventry City manager Mark Robins admitted to being proud of his players after their 1-0 win away to Carlisle United.

Robins told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire about the victory which came from a goal from Marc McNulty in the 49th minute: “I’m massively proud of them today.

“We are counting the cost of injuries. Willis got a whack on the thigh and suffered a dead leg. It’s debilitating when that happens because you have no power to push off.

“There was a lot that went unnoticed by the referee as they tried to nobble one or two of our players and succeeded.

“Nazon took a whack on his hip. He tried to turn and turned into Clint Hill who ‘old manned’ him and he was unable to carry on.

“Dom Hyam came in for Willis and all credit to him, he has had to be patient to wait for his chance and he’s a capable player. And he came in and helped not just see the game out but improve as well

“We created a number of good chances and it should have been out of sight, should have been three.

“Everyone saw that. They didn’t create a great deal and we grew into a little bit of confidence. I thought Tom Bayliss was outstanding when he picked the ball up in the second half.

“The conditions were poor and the pitch difficult to play on and we dealt with it really well.”
