Robins: It's In Our Own Hands

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said it's in the players's own hands as to whether they make the League Two play-offs or not.

City have four games left, starting with tomorrow night's home game against Stevenage and Robins said to the media this morning: “The weather has changed all of a sudden and now we have decent weather and a Friday night game which is unusual, but that combination might mean we get a bigger crowd than normal and we’re looking forward to it.

“It’s going to be a good game, we play before the others and a positive result could put pressure on those teams around us in the league.

“It is in our own hands, some of the teams around us have three games some have four but we’re not looking at anyone else. It’s how we handle it and we’re going into the game full of confidence, we have players who are starting to come into form.

“Stevenage have been playing four in midfield with a diamond and that can represent a different challenge to us, but he could change it and do anything having been in only six games or so.

“They’re capable, they have some decent players and we know we have to be at our best from now until the rest of the season not only to get into the play-offs but to give us some momentum if we get there.

“But, we cant get ahead of ourselves, we want to get there and make sure we’re in the fight and in the hunt, but we have to make sure we see the last four games out properly and be focused and work and graft.

“These are all things you expect from your team, to go into them full of confidence and full of a desire to do well.”
