Coventry City manager Mark Robins admitted that he was delighted that his side were able to give the 1172 City supporters in the away end at Brisbane Road on Saturday, an win.

Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, Robins said: "Three points were a must. "After the week we’d had we needed to stand up and be counted and I’m delighted for the supporters that we managed to do that.

"There were 1,100 of them here today and they were fantastic as usual – and when you’ve got a travelling support like we have you want to put in a performance for them. We had to scrap for it but I’m just delighted that we kept our discipline to grind out a 1-0 win.

"It could have been more convincing and if we had taken the numerous chances we created – it certainly would have been a lot more comfortable. If we’d have got a second it could have been an avalanche and I honestly believe that one day somebody is going to get a hiding.

"But against a team like Orient and in conditions like that – it was a blustery day and the ball was in the air a lot – I’ll take three points and a clean sheet

"We managed to keep our shape, get tighter to our opponents without becoming stretched like we did at Brentford. We’re by no means the finished article – there are still some problems that need eradicating, areas where we need to be a lot better – but a performance like that gives me a little bit more knowledge about the players as we progress.

"It’s never been about workrate, it’s about method and application; we need a little bit more experience and perhaps there’s one or two positions where we could do with a little help. But that was a lot better."
