Cambridge United boss Jimmy Quinn has blamed agents for striker Robbie Simpson joining Coventry City.

Said Quinn to the Cambridge Evening News: "I find it unbelievable that agents are involved at our level of football, and even up into League Two. There are so many around now that it makes it so difficult trying to do deals. "If you look at the Robbie Simpson situation, I believe he would have stayed another year if there wasn't an agent involved."

Quinn went to say: "The thing is, I don't think Robbie is getting too much more money than what we offered him, but agents get bigger fees off bigger clubs. "It is part and parcel in the game now to deal with agents, but I would rather talk to the player."

Simpson will be at Ryton later today to join up with his news team-mates which include Dimi Konstanopoulos, Arjan De Zeuuw and Ellery Cairo and his fee will be decided by an FA Transfer Tribunal next Monday.
