Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that the versatile Sam Ricketts is a comfort blanket.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner about Ricketts, Mowbray said: “I have had certain targets that have drifted away from us and deals that have been more difficult to do for different reasons, some finance and some because of difficulties taking them out of the clubs that they’re at, so in my mind he would be coming in with versatility depending on what else we manage to sign.
“Sam is there, really, as a comfort blanket to fill in a number of positions and yet I am pretty sure in my mind that he will nail down one position. And as long as he produces the goods and the standard required he can play in that position.”
