New Coventry City defender Sam Ricketts has said that that there is no limit to how far the Sky Blues can go.

Speaking to James Rodger of the Coventry Telegraph, Ricketts who has signed a one year deal after being released by Wolves said: "Coventry are similar to Wolves, really. You look at the stature, the size of the club, and they managed to get 27,000 to the Ricoh Arena for Gillingham last year and there's no ceiling as to how high this club can go.

"Tony was a huge factor. I enjoy playing for teams who pass the ball well, stroke it around and control games.

"He has managed at the highest level and he knows exactly what to do in this league.

"The only reason I'm here is for promotion. I like full-on seasons with targets, and that's what I aim for.

"I've been promoted before with Wolves as captain, and now we're trying to lay the blueprint to be well-drilled and cause the opposition problems come the start of the season.

few signings have been made, and there's a few more to come I'm sure. I don't think anybody enjoys pre-season.

"You want to get out there as quickly as possible. I woke up this morning after a weight session and thought 'cor, this is sore.

"Personally, my target is to be consistently impressive and improve myself - because I think I've got better each season. I want to help those around me, the younger players in particular.

"There's no animosity towards Wolves. Chances last year were few and far between. I'm proud of captaining them to the record points total, but I just want to play and that's why I've come to Coventry. It's time to move on...

"I still feel I'm good enough to play and Wolves wanted to play young lads, so promotion this year will prove a lot of doubters wrong."
