Results Drop City to Eighth

Coventry City are eighth in the Championship table after the Championship matches today.

Ipswich moved into the top six with a 6-0 win over Bristol City and ever improving Sheffield Wednesday thrashed Southampton 5-0.

Leaders Watford were held 2-2 by Colchester at Vicarage Road, whilst manager-less Burnley won 1-0 at Leicester.

There were also wins for Blackpool,Charlton,Hull,Sheffield United,Wolves and Plymouth who beat bottom side Norwich City 3-0.

Crystal Palace drew against Queens Park Rangers.

In the FA Cup 1st Round, the big shock was Rushden and Diamonds from the Conference beating Macclesfield Town 3-1. Barrow drew 1-1 at home with Bournemouth and that was the same score at Edgeley Park where Stockport were held 1-1 by Staines Town. League Two Barnet beat League One Gillingham 2-1.

One of the smallest teams left in the competition are Chasetown. The Southern League Midland Division side, more used to playing the likes of Leamington and Bedworth, beat Team Bath 2-0.
