Result Was Unjust - Robins

Coventry City manager Mark Robins felt the 2-1 defeat at Cambridge United was unjust.

City had 18 shots compared to the U's five and forced some geat saves out of David Forde, however, it was another defeat for City on a ground where they have not done well in the past and speaking about the loss, Mark Robins told the Press Association: “I think the result was unjust. We conceded from two crosses when they managed to switch the play on us and put two crosses in the box and put a head on it.

“We were too deep in the first instance, in the second we’re on top in the game. We’ve had chance after chance in the second half but if we don’t deal with the headers and the balls into the box you get punished for it and these are particularly good it and they’re misely in terms of what they’re conceding.

“But the amount of chances we created today stands us in good stead. It doesn’t do anything for us in terms of points tally today, but there’s enough there to be pleased with it for the most part.

“There keeper has kept them in the game. He’s made a number of saves in the second half that have kept the score down.”

Piero Mingoia told Cambridge News: “I think everyone in the stadium that was associated with Cambridge was over the moon to get the three points and we had to dig in and sometimes when you dig in the three points are a little bit sweeter.

“They’re on a good run and they looked pretty good to be honest. They’re a tough team and it was a tight game that could have gone either way as they had some chances as well so in these games you just want to get the three points, it doesn’t matter how you do it, and move onto the next one.".
