Report says King has agreed term with Birmingham

The Mirror Football is today claiming that Marlon King, who was supposed to have made a verbal agreement to remain at Coventry City for another two years, has been offered better terms at Birmingham City and he has accepted them.

Mirror Football claims that King has accepted a deal said to be worth £15,000 a week to the striker and that instead of signing for Coventry City, he will now sign a two year deal for recently relegated Birmingham City when he returns from his holiday.

If the report is true, it would appear that King has gone back on his word to Coventry City manager Andy Thorn when last week he is reported to have phoned Thorn and informed him that he had accepted Coventry City's terms for a two year deal.

If there is any truth in the report, it means that Birmingham City contacted King, or his agent Tony Finnegan after King had made his verbal agreement to sign for Coventry City and which raises ethical and moral questions.
