Reid Steps up Taylor Hunt

Peter Reid has stepped up a bid to take Newcastle United's Stephen Taylor on loan. The 18 year old central defender played for England U21 against Wales but missed out on the Geordies 1-1 draw with Charlton yesterday.

Taylor made two first-team appearances for United last season, coming on as a substitute at Real Mallorca for his debut and starting at Bolton Wanderers.

Meanwhile,former Sky Blue Craig Bellamy faces censure after he abused manager Graeme Souness when the Welshman was replaced in the second half of the Charlton game.
