The Fulham centre half has only played one game at Leeds since moving to Highfield Road after falling victim to a hamstring injury.
Peter Reid has already spoken to Cottagers boss Chris Coleman and said: "We’re short on defenders and although we only had a short time to look at Dean before he got injured I thought the lad was terrific for us.
"He can deal with in the air, he’s strong and he can also get it down and play so I think he will be a major boost for us."
