Reid Scores Twice

Craig Reid was a 70th minute sub for Falkirk in the opening game of the Bairns Tour of Northern Holland at Dwingeloo. Reid scored twice in the twenty minutes he was on the field of play in a game that Falkirk eventually won 16-0.

Mark Magennis started for Northern Irish champions Linfield in their 3-1 home Champions League qualifier defeat by Slovenian side Hit Gorica at Windsor Park. The former City Reserve team player who has also played for Coventry Sphinx was replaced in the 32nd minute.

Former City midfielder Willie Boland is on trial at Swansea City after being released by Cardiff City.

Swansea boss Kenny Jackett told the Western Mail: "Willie's on trial with us initially for this week and we'll see how it goes. "Central midfield is an area we're short in at the moment. Willie lives in Wales and wants to continue living here."
Wigan Athletic have signed Chris Kirkland on a six-month loan deal, with a view to a permanent move. Kirkland currently at Liverpool was on loan at West Brom last season but lost his place after an injury.

Peter Atherton will miss Halfax Town's pre-season due to injury whilst Coventry born Danny Nardiello currently at Barnsley is out injured for six weeks.
