Reid On Reading Victory

Peter Reid was happy with City's first league win since August saying: "I have to say it was a great game of football. People have a go at this league but I thought that was top entertainment.

"We started a little bit apprehensively and they got an early goal which didn't help.

"But credit to our lads for coming straight back, and particularly to Stern John for taking the penalty the way he did. He missed his last spot kick here, but he looked calm and confident when he stepped up.

"There were several good performances across the field and I thought our midfield pair of Michael Doyle and Stephen Hughes shaded the battle which was important for us.

"We must take confidence from this result and start to push up the table.

"If you look at the sides we have beaten you can see what we are capable of.

"We do need to get more consistency into our play and make ourselves harder to beat if we want to start climbing the league."

"Hopefully we can get Adie Williams signature this week. We have struggled since we lost Calum Davenport and hopefully Adie can fill that gap. He has got bags of experience and, at 33, is a fit lad too."
