Speaking to the club website, Peter Reid has dismissed stories linking him with the vacant managerial job at Blackburn. The Sun today reported that Reid who lives in Bolton was a surprise favourite for the Blackburn job. Reid said:"I’m very happy as Coventry City manager and I don’t really want to comment on speculation, which is all these stories are. I’m here to do a job and I’m very much enjoying doing that job. 'There has been no approach from any football club- it is nothing more than pure speculation." Reid has emerged as favourite after the Welsh FA announced they were reluctant to let manager Mark Hughes go part-time.

Meanwhile Reid is expected to take Mickael Citony on trial next week. The 24 year old St Etienne forward is not in the French second division's side and a move to England appeals to the former Rennes forward.
