Coventry City midfielder Gary McSheffrey has admitted that he needs some more rehabilitation on his knee so he can come back to pre-season flying.

Speaking to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter, McSheffrey said: "I will still be doing a bit of rehabilitation on my knee because it's not quite back to where it should be yet but I have a good six weeks now to get it right, rest it up and do a bit of rehab so I can come back flying next season.

I'm devastated I missed the last five games through injury, just as we were hitting a good bit of form.

"I got three goals in five games and I enjoyed playing in the hole if you like at the top of the diamond so getting the injury was disappointing.

"This year has been OK, but there is room for improvement and that is what I aim to do next year. I hope to come back bigger and stronger next season."
