Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has rubbished claims made by Kevin Kyle that City won't play him as three more matches would mean a payment of £100k to Sunderland.

Ranson dismissed this and said to the CT: "It is nothing to do with this whatsoever. The fact is that he does not fit into the manager's plans full stop!

"I am disappointed that he has gone out on loan and yet again said things which don't do him any favours.

"We have recently paid installments for Elliott Ward and Leon Best and have no issue with doing that - so his situation is nothing to do with future payments."

Kyle, who is on a month's loan at Hartlepool is in their squad to face Swindon tonight.
