Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has been taking about the season tickets and next season.

Speaking in the club's ezine to supporters, Mr Ranson said: "We had all the excitement of last Saturday and the quarter-final of the FA Cup against Chelsea.

Nobody here was under any illusions about what a massive task it was going to be and I think we all saw the outstanding quality a side like Chelsea possess.

From our point of view, it was great to stage such a huge occasion and we had nothing but praise for the operation behind the scenes.

We also announced our season ticket prices this week and we've had a very positive response from supporters.

When we set the prices, we had to bear several factors in mind primarily our fans' loyalty for the way they have stuck with the club with very little to cheer about prior to this season.

Then there is the current financial climate which is affecting just about everyone's budget. And, of course, our plans to take the club forward.

As we have said all along we are looking to take the club forward in all aspects of the business. That can only happen with the support of our fans, and it would be great to see the season tickets fly.

In many areas of the ground, prices for our early-bird season tickets have been reduced and I don't think there are many clubs in the Championship that can match our value for families.

Any price increases we have made, we have kept to a minimum and the largest rise is £30 for the season.

When you saw the crowds we achieved against Birmingham, Wolves, Blackburn and Chelsea, it whetted everyone's appetite - especially with the atmosphere our fans generated.

It would be great to see that every week. To make that happen, we know we have our part to play and I think everyone would agree that we have a much stronger team than we did this time 12 months ago.

We will look to build on that again in the summer by adding to the quality we already have. And we also need you."
