Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has called for a restraint to be put on players wages.

Ranson, who is a year into his tenure at the Ricoh Arena, said to the Guardian: "A salary cap should not limit individual players' wages," Ranson argues. "But restraining wages to a proportion of turnover would be a good thing and, in today's climate, people should think seriously about it."
