Coventry City's 19 year old goalkeeper Michael Quirke has been called up into the Republic of Ireland under 21 squad.

Coventry born Quirke has been drafted into the Republic Of Ireland U21 squad which will travel to Portugal for a friendly on Friday March 25th.

Speaking about Quirke who is on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire tonight, Aidy Boothroyd told the CT: "Michael might be doing his own press conference because he's done that many interviews since he made that save.

"I think he's going to be on Parkinson and Wogan as well and he's got an open-top bus ride round the city centre.

"Good luck to him because he deserves it - he was terrific on Tuesday night - and I'm quite happy because he gives me great ammunition for me to have a go at him when he comes in every morning.
