German striker Nick Proschwitz has said that he wants some match time whilst he is at Coventry City.

The loanee from Brentford who made his debut in the 2-1 win over MK Dons on Saturday, was wanted by Steven Pressley in the summer but opted to move to Championship side Brentford.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the former Vaduz player said: “We were talking in the summer when I left Hull.

“I decided against Coventry then, but I am here a few months later.

“I had an ankle injury in January and lost my place in the squad at Brentford and the manager Mark Warburton didn’t put me back in. But it’s important for me to play some games because I am out of contract in the summer.

“Then the interest came from Coventry which is a big club and I see potential in the club and the team so I said ‘I want to do it,’ and get some match time and help the team to go on a winning run.

“They called me on Tuesday or Wednesday. We started very well on Saturday and we need to crack on against Barnsley.”
