Former Coventry City Academy Coach Brian Reid has been appointed the new manager of Stranraer FC.

Reid had managed at Ayr United and in the Phillipines, before Steven Pressley put in a word on his behalf to help him land the Nuneaton Town manager's job.

The Scot did not last long at Liberty Way and was replaced by former City defender Liam Daish.

Steven Pressley then gave Reid a job coaching City's U18 and U21's teams, helping take pre-match warm ups amongst other duties, before he departed along with Darren Murray, shortly before Pressley was sacked by City.

According to Stranraer's website, Reid said Brian said: "Delighted to be given the opportunity to become manager of Stranraer FC and can't wait to get started."
