Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is aware that he needs to continue to get results if he is to continue in his role.

Pressley's people are in talks with the club about a new, improved deal and but speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the City boss said that he was well aware of the need for continued results and said: "Ultimately I have to try to continue to get results for the club, otherwise you never see anything through, and I am very much aware of that.

"But I’d like to think that we have started to put things in place to enable the club to start to grow.

“I was extremely proud of the young players on Friday night and I see a club with a lot of hungry young players just now, but also good professionals who they can learn from.

“So there are many things that excite me and going back to the Ricoh was massive.

“I have said it before, no matter how much we did it was going to be a real struggle to move this club truly on and fulfil its potential without returning to the city. That has given everyone a real lift and it excites me what this club can be.

“I think Friday night was just touching the surface of what we could really have here.

“But it’s going to take a lot of work. There’s been a decline over the last 15 years and it doesn’t change overnight and everyone has to understand that.

"That’s not me running away from any level of responsibility; it’s me being realistic. But I am truly determined to be the one to move us in the right direction.”
