Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he wants to bring in a recruitment process to the club.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said:  “There is absolutely no recruitment structure in place at this football club so that has to change because we need the correct recruitment model where we have a clear database, regional scouts and all these things in place.

“That’s why they brought me here because, albeit to a lesser degree because of the size of the football club, that’s the type of model I created at my last football club where we had real foundations put in place. We need to do that here and 15 years of demise tells you that.

“Fifteen years where they have thrown money at the club and tried certain things but, for me, there’s no foundation or stability within the football department at the club.

“From what I am looking at and inherited there is so much work to be done because we need to be better.

“People calculate everything on money spent. We have invested heavily in the Academy but it’s about what you do with the money. We need to have better income from the areas we’re investing in the football club and we need to invest the money better in different areas of the football department.

“I have had a lot of good meetings and I’ll be putting things in place over the course of the summer that I hope will help re-energise the place and bring greater stability to the football department to build for the future.”
