Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is hoping to bring in Dutch striker ahead of City's FA Cup Third Round tie at Barnsley.

Cup rules dictate that the player must be signed by noon today and Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “We’ve been looking at a 20-year-old Dutch lad and if we can clear all the hurdles by noon on Friday he will come into our thoughts for Saturday.

“That isn’t a knee-jerk reaction because we had a good look at him when he was over here on trial.

“The idea was to bring him in as a development player but because of the circumstances we might have to start that process a little bit quicker and get him into the first team as soon we can.

“That could be on Saturday because although we do have other options that would allow us to continue with the shape formation that has worked really well for us. And this lad has got sheer pace which is something we will certainly need if Callum is going to be out for an extended period.”
