Pressley Does Tudgay U-Turn

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has done a u-turn on Marcus Tudgay and now wants him to stay with the club.

Tudgay had inititally been told he could leave but Pressley, who has had Josh McQuoid return to AFC Bournemouth, could lose Gary Madine if a cash offer for him is received by Sheffield Wednesday and does not have any cash to bring in a new striker unless he can off-load players for whom there is little to no interest, told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “Marcus is beginning to show signs of what he really was.

“A month ago we might have considered allowing him to go but we won’t now. He’s back in training this week with a spring in his step and we’re playing a system that suits him more now in the 4-2-3-1.

“I think when he plays in the tip up there it’s very much his position and he leads the line particularly well. When you look around, especially in the predicament we’re in, there is some form of experience and good mentality within the group but I think Marcus ticks those boxes.

“As a manager you have got to be able to change your mind on certain things and Marcus has certainly done that with me, and he’s a superb professional.

“It will be a great success story if he does really well and it would be well deserved because he’s never let himself down at any stage.”
