Pressley Disappointed With Ricoh Pitch

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is not too happy with the state of the Ricoh Arena pitch.

The pitch again looked awful last night for the JPT game against Plymouth Argyle and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: “I knew when we returned that there was going to be problems with the pitch because of the number of games that had been organised here.

“I accepted that because ACL as a company had to survive and they had to take on the bookings prior to us coming back.

“But I’m disappointed because on Friday night there was a game played here that wasn’t scheduled – it was played in the pouring rain and ruined the pitch for Sunday.

“That’s not an excuse – we lost because we didn’t work hard enough – but the pitch is far from ideal for the type of football I want us to play.

"The bottom line, though, is we have to deal with it and against Plymouth we did that much better.”
