Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has admitted that he is pleased that defender Aaron Phillips has signed a contract extension.

Phillips, who was a substitute in the 3-1 win at Rotherham, signed a deal which will keep him at the club until June 30th 2016 and Pressley told Nick Connoll: "Aaron is another young player that we think very highly of and we're delighted to extend his stay.

"He's grabbed his opportunity with both hands and on a number of occasions this season he has shown what he is capable of and also the level of potential he has to become even better.

"I'm really happy for the kid, he's the kind of young player that we want coming through our system and he fully deserves his new deal."
