Coventry City defender Blair Adams has said the Saturday’s postponed ‘home’ game against Walsall has allowed the played extra time to get to know the three new players brought in by Steven Pressley during the January transfer window.

Striker Nathan Delfouneso, attacking midfielder Dylan McGeouch and winger Mark Marshall have all been training hard alongside the rest of the squad during which time the players have been getting to know each other.

Adams told the Coventry Telegraph: “It meant that we got another good training session under our belts and it was a chance for the new lads (Delfouneso, Dylan McGeouch and Mark Marshall) to get to know us better. It always brings a buzz to the place when you’ve got new players and I’m sure they’ll be eager to impress.

“They’ve integrated very well; Nathan is a chatty lad which is what you like to see because it means you can get to know them early doors. Because of the way, we play the gaffer goes in for very high-intensity training and they’ve all fitted in well. They’re speedy players and they looked very sharp so I’m excited at the thought of seeing them play.

“We’ve got some real quality here and some young lads to push them, it keeps everybody on their toes because nobody is guaranteed a place in the team.

"We’ve got some ground to make up but we’ve still got plenty of games to play and the teams above us will drop points. If we can replicate our play earlier in the season, I’m sure we’ll be in the running at the end.”
