Former Coventry City striker Robbie Simpson has a suspected broken ankle.

Simpson, now at Exeter City, was injured during the 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

Speaking about Simpson's injury, Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale said to BBC Radio Devon. "We are pretty sure he has broken his ankle.

“That really is a big loss for us today. Going into this final quarter of the season, he was going to be a big player for us.”

“He hasn’t had the best of luck this season. “He led the line for us through the first dozen or so games when we were depleted in players and did all the tough, dirty stuff for us in all those games.

“He has then been injured and comeback and done everything right and there was a big part for him to play until the end of the season, but it looks as though we will have to wait until next year. We will have to wait on the exact details, but it looks like he made need an operation.”
