Portsmouth And Doncaster Gain Ground On City

Portsmouth and Barnsley gained ground on Coventry City after tonight's Championship matches.

Portsmouth beat Hull City, whom Coventry travel to on Saturday, 2-0 at Fratton Park and now go second bottom ahead of Doncaster Rovers who drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace.

Doncaster have 32 points from 39 games, Portsmouth have 33 points from 39 games and City have 35 points from 39 games, one point behind fourth from bottom Bristol City.

Nottingham Forest moved a point further away from the relegation zone with a 0-0 draw at Leicester City but Peterorough are still not safe after a 2-0 home defeat by West Ham United.

Former Coventry City forward Lukas Jutkiewicz scored for Middlesbrough in a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.
