Coventry City will be playing Port Vale in League Two next season.

City, who finished the season in 23rd place with a paltry and totally unacceptable points tally of 39 points from 46 matches, will face a game against The Potteries based side who drew 0-0 at Fleetwood Town.

That draw means Gillingham who drew 0-0 at Northampton and Bury who lost 1-0 on their trek to Southend, stay in League One with fifty points.

Chesterfield finished bottom of the table and lost their local derby at Sheffield United 3-2. The win means that United have 100 points and won the league with runners up Bolton beating Peterborough United 3-2.

Swindon. who will also be in League 2 next season, lost 3-0 at Charlton.

Scunthorpe's win over City saw them finish third and face Millwall who won 4-3 at Bristol Rovers, in the play-off which start on Thursday night. The other play-off semi final sees Fleetwood who finished fourth, face Bradford City who drew 1-1 at Rochdale.

Elsewhere, Oldham got a 0-0 draw from their trek to AFC Wimbledon and EFL Trophy Losing Finalists Oxford United beat Shrewsbury 2-0.
