The Scot is having talks with a view to becoming the Assistant Manager to Paul Hart.
He was sacked from the manager's job at Leeds last December and recently turned down a coaching role with the Scottish national side.
Speaking to Portsmouth paper The News, McAllister said: ``I'm coming down for a chat but I can't say anything more than that at the moment. Things might become a bit clearer soon but I am going to have to leave it at that for now.''
