A number of Coventry City players will have to wait until the season is finished before they will learn if City boss Steven Pressley is to offer them new contracts.

Richard Wood, Stephen Elliott, Nathan Cameron, Shaun Jeffers, Callum Wilson, Will Roberts, Billy Daniels and Josh Ruffels as well as those on short term deals such as Jordan Stewart and Danny Philliskirk are all out of contract on June 30th but speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley, who himself faces an uncertain future if the club gets new owners who want their own man in charge, said: : “I have started thinking about contracts of the senior players but not spoken to anyone yet. I’ll get the season finished and will speak not only to those out of contract but also every player within the group about the future and what I expect from them.

“I just want to evaluate the whole squad and make sure we get a group of players who are not necessarily young, but hungry and to get a good balance.

“The one thing that I will do is play young players if I think they’re good enough. And I like the balance of a young, hungry team with the senior players amongst that.

“Carl Baker is a terrific example of that so it’s about finding the balance with those senior players who are still hungry and the right type.”
