Coventry City striker Clive Platt played for 60 minutes in a reserve friendly game behind closed doors yesterday.

Platt was injured during pre-season training and has yet to feature in a competitive game so far this season, but he should be fit again by the time Coventry City play their next game on 10th September when Derby County visit The Ricoh.

City boss Andy Thorn arranged a series of reserve friendlies to test the fitness of his retuning players, especially central defender Ben Turner, but he now looks destined to be leaving the club for Cardiff. However the game gave Thorn the opportunity to have a look at Platt.

Platt came though his 60 minute workout with no ill effects but didn't manage to score in the game which Coventry beat Notts County 4-0.
