Philliskirk: I Have The Utmost Respect For City

Former Coventry City player Danny Philliskirk has said that he has the utmost respect for City.

Philliskirk, who became a father to Hattie on Friday, scored for Oldham Athletic in Saturday's 1-1 draw and speaking about this to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, he said: “I think it’s three in four against them.

“I’ve got no grudges against them. Coventry City FC is a great club and I’ve got the utmost respect for them. It just didn’t really work out.

"Since I’ve come to Oldham, it’s been the best thing for me. I’ve been getting games and just luckily every time I’ve come back here I’ve scored. It’s a good little habit I’ve got!

“The first half, we were a little bit sloppy but in the second half I thought we deserved a point. Once they scored, I thought we were the team in the ascendancy.”

"Hattie was born about 2 o’clock-ish on Friday afternoon, so I didn’t get home until about 12 o’clock and didn’t sleep until about 2am. Then, I was up at 7am.

“It’s been a long couple of days – I was being sick at half-time as well. I don’t know why, I just think I felt a bit drained.

“The gaffer asked if I was alright and I said ‘yes.’ I’ve got a knack of scoring goals here, so I wanted to stay on.

“Luckily, in the last minute I’ve popped up with an equaliser, which has topped of a great weekend for me and my family.”
