Peterborough United have sacked their manager Dave Robertson.

The Posh have won just three of their last seventeen matches and the Peterborough board have decided to remove him from the role that he had for 23 games.

Robertson said to the Peterborough Telegraph: “I am feeling the pain. I am passionate about the club and I genuinely wish them all the best for the future. I still very much want them to be successful.

“Of course I am disappointed and I was confident I could turn things around. I could see signs that we were improving as a team, but I accept that we are in a results business and ours haven’t been good enough recently.

“I spoke with the chairman after the Southend match and his decision was made and confirmed this morning. It was a tough phone call for both of us.."
