Pete Receives His Honour

Coventry Music Historian, and museum Curator Pete Chambers (59) received his British Empire Medal on Monday from Colonel George Marsh TD, The Vice-Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands  on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen at a ceremony in Birmingham's Town Hall.  

Pete receives his honour for "Volunteering  Services to Coventry Music", Pete said, "To say I'm thrilled, is something of an understatement. I know that getting an honour like this is a unique thing, Also being awarded this for Coventry music makes it even more amazing, this is life changing for me. I Never dreamed that one day I would be on the Honours List and be able to use letters after my name, never saw that one coming!"

Pete's musical journey includes being an author of six books on the subject, writing a regular music column for over eleven years, his projects have includes the idea for "The more Than Two Tones" exhibition at The Herbert. The Walk of Stars, The 2-Tone Trail, The Coventry Music Wall of Fame , 2-Tone Central and The Coventry Music Museum. He was once called the eighth Special by Lynval Golding of the band.
