Aston Villa will have to pay £15m to take former Coventry City defender Scott Dann from Birmingham City.
Stoke City have already offered £12m and interest from Liverpool and Arsenal has driven up the price to a minimum of £15m.
Alex McLeish, who was appointed Villa boss in the week, has made the former City player his number one target.
All this bodes well for the Sky Blues who are rumoured to have had a sell on clause, but those in on the deal to bring him from Walsall to Coventry City and then from City to St Andrews in June 2009 will have an effect on how much the club actually gets.
