Partridge is currently on loan from Liverpool and the Premiership side have allowed the Irish under-21 international to take part in the Worthington Cup clash.

Partridge will most likely be used as a direct replacement for Youssef Chippo who has a thigh strain.

“The Worthington Cup is very important to us and we want to go as far as we possibly can. If you win games you can get into a winning pattern and that can go right through the club,” said Coventry's assistant manager Eric Black.

Meanwhile, City have dispensed with the services of centre-back Steve Walsh.

The former Leicester City player only started one senior game for the Sky Blues and has not featured since.
