Speaking at the club weekly press conference, Boothroyd, whose side have lost their last two matches, told Sky Blue Player: "I don't subscribe to the must-win mentality because Saturday is not a must-win game. Whether we win two games or lose two games I don't for one second get carried away with it.
"Make no mistake I want to win every single game and whether or not we win or get beat my foot will still be firmly on top of everybody because we want to make sure we do something to shout about at the end of the season when we're all tired and in need of a holiday.
"We want to make sure we've done something worth doing and experience has taught me that your only one game from being a king and one game from being a clown so I'll just stay nice and level."
