Coventry City put in the worst performance of not only this season but for a few years and went down to a 4-1 defeat at Oxford United.

Oxford had a number of corners and then Kane Hemmings was left alone to run through and score in the seventh minute.

In the 29th minute, Oxford had a second when a Hemmings shot came off James Sterry and went past Burge and into the net.

The City support were livid telling the players in no uncertain terms to show some passion and Mark Venus to clear off out of the club

The mood worsened when Oxford were given a 35th minute penalty and former City loanee Chris McGuire stepped up and converted with ease.

Alex  MacDonald hit a fourth on the hour mark as many City supporters headed for home.

Oxford had Skarz stretchered off in a game which saw eleven minutes of added time and a goal for City which came from a penalty converted by Marcus Tudgay.
