Our Shape Is Coming Together - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that the shape of his team is coming together after the 1-0 defeat at Cambridge United.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: “If it had been a league game I wouldn’t have been happy but it wasn’t.

“It was part of our preparation for the season and I think the shape of the team is good and things are coming together.

“It was very similar to the last couple of games – we did enough to score a few goals and if you keep having the domination of the ball you’ll win a lot more games than we lose.

“The two central midfield players, John Fleck and Romain Vincelot, put in a lot of very good work and will be a lot better prepared for Wigan because of that. And I think it showed that young James Maddison is starting to come of age – he’s enjoying himself and he looks as if he could become the focal point of our football team.

“Add Adam Armstrong to that team and I think you’ll see much more of a cutting edge. We need somebody with that dynamic speed because that scares teams.”
