On The Game

Paul from Wyken said after Coventry City's 4-0 defeat against West Brom: "The first half showed some great team effort after Mifsud's sending off. " Having seen the incident on tv at half-time, how he reached Hoefkens is beyond me.

"The defence fell apart in the second half and after the second goal,Albion cruised it. "They are nothing special. We matched them on a lot of occasions, but it was not our day."

Iain Dowie said after the game: "Michael's sending off was the right decision. "I don't know why he did it but Michael has said he is sorry and I'm not going to hang him out to dry.

"For 35 minutes after we went down to ten men I think we were arguably the better side, playing with tenacity and were a threat. We moved the ball well, we were disciplined and we were defensively solid. "Stephen Hughes led us and was snappy with his tackles. He's done terrific for us.

"We made mistakes in the second half but even after we conceded one we could still have got something. When you go 2-0 down against West Brom they are going to hurt you though.

"We're disappointed with the way the goals came. The lads have done well defensively of late but they let themselves down in the second half tonight. "But we move on. "We've just won three games on the spin, we've got a break now and whats' to stop us winning the next three games?"
