John Eustace has left Stoke City to sign for Watford in a deal worth £250k.

After leaving City in 2003, the midfielder struggled with injuries and only made 63 (+21 sub) appearances for The Potters.

Former City keeper Stephen Bywayer has joined Ipswich on loan. He was dropped when Paul Jewell took over as the new manager of Derby County, and has now been allowed out on loan.

Bywater, will wear the number 43 shirt in honour of former City keeper Les Sealey. Said the keeper to the Evening Star:"Les was like a dad to me at West Ham. I spent a few years working with him and learning, not just about football, but life and how to be a man.

"He died at 43 which is no age and I have dedicated my career which is why I wear that number."
