Former Coventry City youngster Martin Devaney has signed for Watford. Devaney joined Cheltenham Town where he was a popular figure,but the Wales U21 midfielder decided the time was right to move on and plumped for Vicarage Road,moving on a free transfer.

Hornets boss Adrian Boothroyd said: "Martin's a skilful midfielder and suits the style of football I want us to play."

Willie Boland has accepted a new contract and will stay at Cardiff City who are managed by former Sky Blue David Jones.

Meanwhile, Coventry kid James Quinn won't be signing for Hull City. Tigers boss Peter Taylor said that he already had a striker coming back and would not need Quinn who has always wanted to play for the Sky Blues, but has never been given the chance.
