Oggy To Sort Out City's Free Kick Problem

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has appointed Steve Ogrizovic to sort out the Sky Blues problem of conceding goals from free kicks.

Speaking about this to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Mowbray said: “I’ve always allocated set-plays to a member of staff.

“That’s not passing the buck but it focuses the mind that it’s their responsibility. Rather than having it diluted with all the other training you’re doing.

“They can take the group away on a concentrated 20-minute spell and become the voice they go to for the fine details.

“We’re in a situation where we’ve lost two very similar goals; central free-kicks bent round the wall into the corner so I’ll leave that to Oggy and the coach I allocate it to.

"Historically they would put one man outside the post; maybe we need to think about over-exaggerating it.”
