O'Donovan Gets Vote Of Confidence From Thorn

Andy Thorn may be without two of his top strikers for the away game at Derby tomorrow, but he has given the forgotten striker Roy O'Donovan a confidence boost by saying he would have no hesitation in playing him if he is needed.

O'Donovan was brought to the club by Aidy Boothroyd but he was hardly ever picked, even on the bench, but Thorn maintains his omission was not down to lack of talent, but more to do with luck, form of the other strikers and injury.

Responding to questions about whether he had confidence in O'Donovan, Thorn said to the CT: "Absolutely, if I need to play Roy he'll play. They are all looking good in training. I don't like living on the past and I have a gut feeling going into games and during games and I will make those decisions."

"He has been terrific. He's got his head down and worked hard and unfortunately for him with the other boys ahead of him doing well he has been forced down the pecking order a bit, but he has been a good pro and if I need him I won't hesitate to play him."
