Nuneaton Town manager Dino Maamria has left and become the new manager of Stevenage FC.

Maamria joined Nuneaton in October and moved them away from the relegation zone up to 13th with a spell that saw him made manager of the month.

Stevenage were given permission to speak to their former player, coach  and assistant manager (to Graham Westley) and have now, given him the job with Stevenage Chairman Phil Wallace saying: "Obviously Dino is well known to us having worked here as a number two for several years.

“He applied for the job two years ago but I didn’t think he was ready and I had Glenn Roeder supporting Darren.

“Now I think he is – he’s had good experiences since I last met him and I’ve always loved his passion for the club, our fans and winning football matches.

“The Nuneaton chairman was outstanding in the way he handled our interest as I know he was desperately sad to see Dino leave.

“We had a lot of applications for the job but we needed to bring Dino back home. He’ll be in charge for the home game against Colchester on Saturday and I hope our fans will turn out in force to welcome him back”
