Not Consistent Enough - Hughes

Coventry City midfielder Stephen Hughes has said that the problems that saw City finish in 21st place were down to inconsistency.

Said Hughes to the CT: "We will try our very best to make sure we don't go through anything like this again. We can't do, but it is all about consistency, and that's where we have let ourselves down.

"The manager is going to strengthen but even with the squad of players we have got we know we should be good enough. We won at Manchester Utd and Blackburn and places like that this year and, at times, played absolutely fantastic football and competed with some really top teams. But we just haven't been consistent enough.

"I think individual errors have cost us this year but there has been an awful lot of pressure on the boys over the last six weeks and no matter what anyone says, we have done it. We have crossed the line and it has taken a lot of character from the ladsand deep, deep down we are pleased it's over."
